The Princeton Water Treatment Plant is located at 1220 N Old Hwy 41. It has a capacity to treat 3 million gallons of water per day. Currently the plant treats about 1.2 million gallons daily. Treatment includes disinfecting using chlorine gas and adding hydrofluisilic acid (HFA) to prevent dental cavities. Before being treated the water is aerated to remove most of the elemnntal iron and stored at the plant in a 500,000 gallon above ground storage tank. There is also below ground storage for about 90,000 gallons. Water to be treated comes from a well field located on County Road 350 West. There are currently seven wells used to access the aquifer.
Three employees are responsible for the plant. Dennis M. Gray is superintendent and has been a licensed water operator since 1981. He has been plant manager since 1983. Jim Jaquemai has been a licensed operator since 1996. John White has been an operator at the plant since 2009.
